Supply Care Solutions are looking for ARC workers for an ongoing jobs in Hertfordshire.


You must be a car driver with business insurance



  • Pay rate from £10.38 PAYE per hour

  • Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights cover needed

Our Client provides both outreach and a short breaks service to children and young people aged 12-17, (outreach cases maybe younger).

The short breaks service encompasses Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights.


The service has been set up to work with traumatised children and young people and their families.

The Centre aims to achieve good outcomes for children and young people by offering planned weekends and emergency placements that meet individual needs.

The main purpose of the job is to prevent family and placement break down, preventing young people becoming accommodated and to support families in overcoming difficulties within their home and family life.


MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY


Successful ARC workers will be allocated a caseload and be expected to complete baseline assessments.

This will provide the information in which to first decide if the service is right for the family but also to highlight and plan the areas of intervention needed.


As an ARC Worker you will meet with the family, social worker and where appropriate other professionals such as schools, and based on need develop a plan of work.

Sessions are completed individually with the child/ young person and in addition with the parents/ carers and family.

The Short breaks service is also offered where it is felt there is a need for more intensive work with the child and family.

Children are admitted for planned weekends under section 17 and work continues based on their primary aims, parents are also invited for planned sessions and therapists can also be utilised to support work.


Working on shift to ensure that the needs of the children are fully met by good parenting, effective planning, maintaining routines, implementing consistent boundaries and responding creatively and flexibly to challenges.

You will follow the day to day activities of the short breaks service including; cooking and cleaning; taking children to school as appropriate, planning and taking part in activities and in some circumstance's appointments; following petty cash procedures, administering medication, maintaining the home environment and acting as a good role model.


In addition you will role model and support parents in providing this care and support, using the ARC model, through providing outreach support, involving sessional work with children, their families and carers.

The Service uses a theoretical model, Attachment, Self-Regulation and Competency, training is provided and all workers are expected to work to this model.

You may be required to work across the homes, within some of these homes, we have children who have disabilities and who may require intimate physical care.


Recording to a high standard in line with HCC policy and procedures demonstrating a thorough knowledge of child development; the impact of early experiences on behaviour and sensitivity to children and families.

PERSON SPECIFICATION


You will have excellent communication and listening skills being empathetic and insightful to the needs of troubled children and adolescents.

You will be calm, resilient, nurturing and emotionally aware with a passion for helping children affected by abuse and neglect to meet their potential through therapeutic care.

You will be willing to learn and develop your skills and practice through training and additional study.


You will be resilient, flexible and able to adapt to changing priorities.

You will remain calm under pressure using your own initiative as well as working as part of a team.

As well as being organised, methodical and confident with computer packages you will also have proven literacy and numeracy skills.
