Fit Out Quantity Surveyor

Nationwide Fit-out housing and maintenance company is looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their growing team in the Liverpool based office.

Your job will be to accurately forecast payments and receipts ensure projects are run correctly, develop and maintain both internal and external relationships and prepare and analyse commercial reports.

The ideal candidate will have previous Quantity Surveyor - preferably with a Fit-out (retail and commercial) background.

You will have a relevant degree, strong commercial acumen and have an understanding of financial planning/control systems and contractual issues.

Duties will be:

* To maximise the Company's cash flow through accurate forecasting of payments and receipts

* Clear communication with clients and supply chain and swift reconciliation of any cash critical issues

* Ensuring projects are run in a coordinated manner and in accordance with plans by assisting the contracts team

* Develop and maintain effective working relationships with contract management teams and key consultants to support the overall progress of the project

* Liaising directly with design teams and client representatives

* Submitting valuations and resultant certification in relation to the progress of works and the value of the specific contract

* Responsible for the overall financial control of the contract; controlling and monitoring any contra charges and variations against financial plans

* Attending and contributing to meetings; cascade team meetings, commercial/op meetings, client progress meetings where necessary

* Continually seeking opportunities to enhance relationships and service provision to clients, both internal and external

What we are looking for:

* Have previous Quantity Surveyor experience of working in a similar role

* Preferably come from a Fit out (retail & commercial) background

* Demonstrate a strong understanding of Quantity Surveying/Estimating issues

* A relevant Quantity Surveying qualification

* An understanding of financial planning/control systems, contractual issues

* Strong commercial acumen with good negotiation skills

* Ability to liaise effectively with clients and architects to maintain and build relationships

* Great communication skills - both written and verbal

* Ability to work well as part of a team with a friendly personality

* Computer Literate, be fully IT literate in word and excel (at intermediate level)

* Have a full UK driving licence

* Flexible in terms of hours work
