Accounts Administrator

Title: Accounts Administrator

Tenure: Part time – up to 20 hours per week, hours flexible to suit applicant

Reporting to: Directors

The Company:

Printed Motor Works are an entrepreneurial, forward thinking and growing electric motor manufacturer with a UK manufacturing facility and circa 20 staff.

We manufacture compact motors and customised motor systems for the logistics, medical, aerospace and general industrial markets.  Our customer base is global and we are a key supplier to a number of well known industry brand names.

We are ISO9001 (2008) certified.

Job purpose:

To be involved in all aspects of the accounting function, from managing the purchase ledger through to monthly cash reconciliations and month end reporting.

The role requires a person who is enthusiastic, reliable, diligent and able to manage and prioritise tasks.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:


  • Purchase ledger control on SAGE accounts.
  • Cashbook management.
  • Processing multicurrency payments through online banking.
  • Month end bank reconciliations.
  • Processing expense claims.
  • Preparing monthly payroll for approval and submitting to an external payroll bureau.
  • Filing VAT, Intra-stat and EC Sales returns.
  • Processing monthly accruals and prepayments journals.
  • Responding to general accounts enquiries.
  • Production of monthly management reports.
  • Assisting in the production of year end accounts files.
  • Maintain regular consistent and professional attendance, punctuality, personal appearance, and adherence to relevant health & safety procedures.
  • Pursue personal development of skills and knowledge necessary for the effective performance of the role.

Personal Specifications:


  • Flexible self starter who will enjoy working within a small company.
  • Proven track record of working within an accounts function.
  • Enthusiastic about improving our current methods and processes.
  • Ability to prioritise and action tasks.
  • IT competent with good excel skills.
  • Experience in the use of financial accounting systems (SAGE preferred).
  • Experience of working in a similar manufacturing environment would be an advantage but not essential.
  • Competent in english and maths.
