I am actively recruiting for an experienced and professional Service Centre Manager to oversee the running of our clients Manufacturing Operation.


Due to further growth our clients business is evolving there business particularly the Service Side of their business so the role offers a great opportunity for a dynamic leader familiar with fast response manufacturing Industry.

The role is best suited to an individual who currently manages a service centre in the hydraulic, pump, or valve industry.


The Opportunity


Is to manage a fast response ”jobbing” shop to provide:-



  • Safe working practice, materials handling and works order processing

  • Fast response, service centre style leadership of factory employees

  • Fast response, service centre style leadership of service team

  • Reliable planning and co-ordination of all Manufacturing Activities

  • Leadership and direction in the selection of manufacturing Techniques

  • Tactical awareness for administration of effective make or buy policies

  • Productivity savings through continuous improvement & Lean Thinking

  • Efficient and effective ergonomically designed working environment

  • Published and sustained standard operating procedures (SOPs)

  • Competitive advantage through planned and set up time reduction.

  • Reliable preventive maintenance programmes

  • A culture for internal & external cost reduction



  • Reliable communication of production status to stakeholders

  • Timely completion of company manufacturing reports

  • Effective and positive collaboration with internal colleagues

  • Lean is an advantage but strong customer service mentality is a key priority




The Candidate:

You will be a dynamic leader familiar with fast response manufacture, lean is an advantage but strong customer service mentality is a key priority You will either be a Service Centre Supervisor looking for your next step up or a Proven Service Centre Manager who currently manages a service centre in the hydraulics, pump, valve industry.

Candidates from the Offshore, Oil, Gas, Marine, Aerospace and Energy industries would be best suited.
You will be a results oriented individual with a proven track record of success in building and strengthening teams.

Qualifications and Experience:



  • HND / Degree in engineering or business



  • Fast Response ”Service centre” management



  • Proven leader with successful sustainable results

  • Proven change leadership record

  • Hydraulic product and systems knowledge

  • Customer focused & driven

  • Experience of Lean Principles (TPM, SMED, 5S etc.)

  • Tenacious “results orientated” approach to business

  • Solution seeker, Driver of positive “Can-do” Culture

  • Analytical, inquisitive, Challenger of the “Status Quo”

  • Effective communicator and negotiator at all levels

  • Ability to Harmonise a Unionised workforce
