Service Engineer

Duties and responsibilities for the Serive Engineer

  • Responsible for the day-to-day planning, testing, troubleshooting and documentation of the Cloud services, devices and applications portfolio to provide full development life cycle support.

  • Partake in regression/acceptance testing of SIP based devices and applications, VoIP/UC features, Java based UC web applications and maintaining quality control.

  • Ensuring services are localized and comply with all relevant standards and legislation.

  • Writing internal and customer facing documentation and developing documentation related to design, procedures and processes.

  • Responsible for planning activities across the Service Engineering team, and collaboration with other teams, utilizing Project Management/Agile Development standards and frameworks.

  • Various Service Engineering development functions, including interaction with other departments within the business to ensure the successful delivery and development of new and existing Unified Communications services.


  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science.

  • Significant Proven experience in comparable role within an Cloud, ASP, ISP, Telco

  • Strong Project Management and process background with ability to drive projects, testing, upgrades, release control and change management.

  • Expertise in VoIP/Unified Communications device and application technologies and protocols including TCP/IP, SIP, RTP.

  • Strong working knowledge of web applications services, technologies and protocols including HTTP, XML, RESTful APIs.

  • Previous experience of software and product development and testing.

  • Strong Project/Product management experience an advantage.

  • Must be capable of writing clear documentation.

  • You will have a keen eye for detail and ability to use own initiative.

  • Telecoms OSS/BSS understanding and experience an advantage.

  • Experience of Unified Communications devices, web and native applications, including desktop, mobile and tablet application support/development/testing.
