MS Access and .Net Developer
My client, a local authority in Hampshire, is looking for an MS Access and .Net Developer to work on an initial 3 month contract.
The successful candidate is required to work 4 days a week on a specific project called Digital and 1 day a week with the Development Team.
Working on a dedicated programme in a team focusing on analytics the post holder will be migrating data from MS Access to SQL Server and repointing any existing forms/reports to SQL Server.
This is to support the production of reports and analytics.
The role will also involve ensuring existing application front ends are still operational through migration.
You will also assist with the development of bespoke applications and integrations including new and existing systems using technologies including C#, VB.Net, SQL Servers (SSRS/SSIS), MS Access and Boomi Integration server.
Initially working on the Digital Project outlined above, you will have a role in implementing the new technologies underpinning the Digital Strategy, key to our transformation plans through to 2019 and beyond.
, Microsoft Access (Awareness of structures - tables, data queries, macros)
, Microsoft SQL Sever DBA (Creating tables, views, some stored procedures)
, VBA (able to interpret logic not write it).
IT Development Team;
, SQL Server 2008+ programming including SSIS
, ASP.Net 3.5/4/4.5/4.6 (VB.Net/C#), including:
o Web forms development
o WCF services/clients
, N-tier development
, OOP design patterns
, Using TFS for source control and team collaboration
, Coding to accessibility standards
, Secure coding techniques (working to OWASP standards)
, Deploying applications in IIS7 onwards
Must be able to communicate with customers, managers and colleagues under pressure and possess good written skills for documentation.
Experience of delivering to tight timescales in a new development team.
