Deputy Manager

An amazing nursery in Finsbury, in the Central London borough of Islington is seeking a Deputy Manager that can lead and inspire best practice within this fantastic setting.

The Deputy Manager will be responsible for leading the Nursery team in a hands on, and inspiring way, and have the ability to role model best practice, act as an advisor to Nursery staff in terms of practice and development and above all else inspire the Nursery team to deliver outstanding care and education.

As Deputy Manager you will observe and monitor staff practice and have the skill and ability to give meaningful, structured and progress feedback and advice in order to continually improve the outcomes for children within the setting.

You will ideally hold a higher level (BA) childcare qualification and have the experience, knowledge and leadership capacity to push forward quality standards within this already high quality setting.

Situated within walking distance to Kings Cross St Pancras Underground Station the nursery is easily accessible

Some of your responsibilities will include:
, To achieve and maintain high standards of care and education
, To effectively lead and manage the staff team including recruitment and retention, providing day to day guidance, training and support to all staff
, To ensure all policies, procedures and curriculums are implemented and adhered to at all times
, To keep abreast of current early childhood thinking/trends
, To implement and development a progressive development programme that will steer ongoing developments.

, To implement an effective parent liaison programme, to be influential in developing strong links with parents
, To support the manager all day to day operations of the nursery

You will need to have the following qualifications, training and experience:
, NNEB, CACHE Level 3, NVQ Level 3, or ideally BA, EYTS, EYP qualification.

, Excellent knowledge of health and safety legislation
, Knowledge of OFSTED standards
, Excellent knowledge of the EYFS
, Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work to targets and deadlines
, Good time management skills
, Excellent communication skills
, Strong people management skills
, Knowledge and understand of equal opportunities / SENCO etc.
, Previous relevant supervisory experience
