Assistant Store Manager - Designer Footwear

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Assistant Store Manager to join a leading Boutique footwear company in the Cosmopolitan City of Bath, inspiring footwear design and tailored to fit solutions.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and career focused individual with excellent Customer Service & leadership skills, a Commercial Awareness, with previous exposure to promoting brands and eager to progress to the position of Store Manager within 6 months.

Hours of work 37.5hr week, hours over a 7 day week (Rota)

Starting salary £24,000 -£28,000 DOE

The Assistant Store Managers role is to support the overall business strategy by delivering an exceptional brand experience within their location.

The key measure of success is the achievement of agreed sales targets and the assistance to the Head of Sales in establishing growth of the local geographical customer base.

You will be required to achieve the budgeted turnover of the store with emphasis on:

  • Leading a productive and effective team who are expert in delivering a high level of personal sales performance underpinned by excellent customer service
  • Promoting the Brand within the stores geographical area of influence, achieving sign- ups of local partnerships and gaining access to networks with the intention of generating additional store awareness and introducing new visitors to the store

Assistant Store Manager Key Responsibilities:

Performance Management:

  • Responsible for recruiting and leading a strong team who will deliver the required sales performance and customer experience within budget expectations
  • Responsible for overseeing all HR procedures such as recruitment, probation, staff performance, appraisals/disciplinary, development

Stock Management:

  • Ensuring stock movements are made as requested by various departments and reported on the Stock Management Summary
  • Responsible for signing off the destroyed log
  • Managing SMS reporting and overseeing monthly stock take and reporting to Finance

Premises Management:

  • Ensuring the store is maintained to an appropriate standard of safety, comfort and style liaising with the Brand Manager on recommended changes that could positively impact the sales performance of the store
  • Obtaining budget approval to make any repairs or changes to the store as needed
  • Ensuring that the monthly H&S check and weekly fire alarm tests are being carried out and reported as required
  • Manage the purchasing of basic store supplies such as stationary/tea etc.

This is what we need you to have:

  • Experience working in a similar Store/Retail Management role
  • An interest in fashion and style and experience promoting/selling brands
  • Outstanding Customer service, Communication & Presentation skills
  • The ability to adapt to all customer types, seeking to create and maximize sales opportunities
  • Ability to lead & influence others building strong relationships that encourage performance
  • Ability to take initiative and make decisions relating to all aspects of the stores performance
  • Ability to use Office applications such as Word, Excel and Outlook
