Residential Support Worker



This is a full time, permanent vacancy, whereby if you are successful you will be employed directly by the business.

I am recruiting for one of Safehands Recruitments prestigious clients based in the Stoke area for Residential Support Worker with Children.

You will be working as part of a large community of specialised workers where training and development is provided.

You will support young adults 18-25 years old with a range of mental health, challenging behaviours and other complex needs within a spacious residential site.

Shifts are long days, sleep ins, waking nights - these are worked on a rota basis.

You will need to be prepared to work days and nights.

With an extensive training package on offer and competitive salary, this is the perfect opportunity for a Residential Support Worker with young adults and provides room for progression.

People with no experience looking to pursue a new career within health and social care will be considered.


Responsibilities of Support Worker With Young Adults:

• Promoting self help and independence inline with care plans

• Assisting with domestic duties

• Working closely with teaching staff, social workers and external professionals in a professional manner

• Supporting clients to access the community

• Managing challenging behaviour in a safe and effective manner

• Undertake regular sleep in duties

• Participate in regular review meetings and risk assessments

• Attend and contribute to team meetings

• To maintain knowledge and operate within current legislation and company polices and procedures

• Promote in dependence and develop a trusting relationship with the clients

• Maintain confidentiality at all times

• To undertake all mandatory training inline with company policies and procedures

 

Person Specification for Support Worker With Young Adults:

• Due to the location of the business and shift patterns, all applicants must hold a full driving licence and have access to their own vehicles

• Staff must be flexible with shift patterns

• You must be confident and competent when support clients with challenging behaviour

• Training to NVQ standard would be advantageous but not essential as training is provided

• All applicants will be subject to an Enhanced DBS check and 5 years referencing
