Quantity Surveyor - Up to £50k Basic

The Role:

  • You will be based from the office in Southern Derbyshire, working on various projects in terms of scope and size, multi tasking and running various projects simultaneously

  • The successful applicant will be working in a traditional Quantity Surveyor role, focused on Electrical Quantity Surveying and the associated works of those electrical projects

  • It is vital that you are compiling monthly reports, developing effective working relationships with members of the project management team

  • In this role you will be carrying the implementation of change control procedures and the preparation of contractual notices

  • It is essential that you carry out the procurement of suppliers and sub-subcontractors and also provide support with financial reporting for the projects you are working on

  • Understanding of the full contract requirements and assisting with contractual correspondence is a vital requirement for this position

  • A full understanding of risk and identifying the implications of various actions taken by yourself and the project team is essential during your working

The Ideal Person:

  • It is essential that you have previous experience in quantity surveying within Construction, Engineering or ideally Rail

  • A 2:1 honours degree or better in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management is highly desirable for anyone applying to this position

  • You need to be a driven person, with a self-motivated attitude and with the ability to work on your own initiative

  • The ability to analyse drawings and designs is essential, along with the ability to interpret and monitor programmes against contractual requirements

  • It is important that you are well organised and have a high attention to detail, also you will need to have fantastic communication skills at all times

  • T.

    skills with particular competence in Microsoft Office Suite is very important, experience is Sage would be highly beneficial

  • Anyone applying will need the willingness to undertake further training and education to obtain Chartered status, if you have not already achieved this
