Hotel Sales Executive



Manchester



£25,000 - £30,000



To develop new business and be responsible for managing the sales environment to maximize profitability and to ensure superior service and product quality are maintained to brand and hotel standards.


Sales



  • To proactively establish new prospects and contact and convert them into new business

  • To develop and maintain a client and prospective client database, following company standard

  • To respond to and follow up on sales enquiries

  • To develop and maintain existing and new customers through planned individual account support and liaison with reservations team

  • To carry out market research and competitor surveys

  • To compile the annual hotel sales plan

  • To carry out monthly analysis on departmental sales against budget and key account management strategy

  • To complete 3 monthly sales action plans from annual sales and marketing plan - and review 3 monthly sales plans on monthly basis

  • Work alongside the conference and events sales team to sell C&E venue and room packages


Marketing and Brand



  • Working in conjunction with the General Manager and Marketing team to produce and develop marketing and sales plans for the hotel

  • Conduct familiarization trips and show rounds

  • To continuously review areas of responsibility against brand standard operation procedures, produce and review resulting action plans

  • To develop and implement action plans to address any shortfall in standards

  • Actively see ways to improve the operation, agree and implement any resulting factors

  • To liaise and attend meetings and other company functions necessary to perform duties and aid business development, promoting a positive company image at all times

  • To complete month end reports and ensure that relevant people receive reports to agreed company standards

  • Ensure effective purchasing practices in line with purchasing manuals and budgets

  • To attend and input into weekly strategy meetings

  • Produce monthly reports for management on sales activities and future goals

  • Be proactive in selling the hotel to the different market sectors and driving revenue,


Managing Customer Care



  • To ensure all customer requests are responded to promptly and effectively

  • To actively seek verbal feedback from customers and act on feedback both positive and constructive

  • To deal with complaints positively and agree actions to implement improvements

  • Liaise with Marketing Venue Executive to deal with any media and PR activity and develop good relationship with the local press

Financial Performance



  • Support the General Manager with the annual budget preparation

  • Prepare weekly forecast in line with company procedures

  • To actively control costs in line with company procedures, without compromising standards and quality

  • Analysis and reporting of individual performance against targets and forecast, identifying trends that will impact future performance


Experience



  • Minimum of 2 years hotel sales experience

  • Experience in a hotel sales role with a proven track record of developing new business sales

  • Knowledge of local market

  • Knowledge of hospitality and C&E (preferable)

  • Working knowledge Delphi (or similar system - full training will be given)

  • Passion for sales and for achieving targets and objectives

  • Experience of planning and developing strategy

  • Commitment to delivering a high level of customer service
