Valuation Surveyor - London

My client, a local authority based in West London is looking for a Valuation Surveyor to join their team.

This is a full time, temporary position and the successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking tasks relating to the management of the clients diverse general fund and HRA property portfolio including property valuation, property management, and right to buy valuations.

Other duties include;

Work proactively and positively with the SM Valuation and Estate Management to ensure the successful working of Estate Management and Valuation services
Undertake tasks to ensure the efficient management of the clients property portfolio including lease renewals, rent reviews and the letting of vacant property to include shops, industrial units, offices etc.
Assist with monitoring and resolution of rental arrears.
Prepare evidence for Public Enquiries, Arbitration, and Court Cases and attend the same as necessary
Undertake asset valuations of all types of assets within the clients General Fund and HRA portfolios in accordance with the RICS - Professional Standards and International Financial Reporting Standards and the CIPFA Code.
Identify and advise on opportunities for service provisions, development and urban regeneration.
Acquisition of property for service provision or development by private treaty or CPO including negotiation the settlement of compensation claims, and if required preparing evidence for Lands Tribunal Cases.
Provide commercial property investment and valuation input into any property and service reviews to maximise the potential of client assets.
Prepare Cabinet Reports, Portfolio Holder Reports, Briefing Reports and other technical documents.
Advising on rating issues including preparing and conducting appeals against assessment of client property.
Prepare capital and revenue estimates for acquisition, disposal and leasing of all types of client owned and purchased property.
Commission external consultants to provide expert technical input into aspects of projects and to manage the effective delivery of this input.
Contribute to the achievement of Corporate Estate in terms of service delivery, financial performance, objectives and targets.
Ensure that the asset register is promptly updated with any changes to the portfolio.
To attend meetings with Senior Offices on property issues.
Develop and maintain effective governance and performance frameworks to clarify accountabilities, expectations and ensure that effective monitoring, reporting and challenge mechanisms are in place.
Contribute to the achievement of all relevant National, Regional, Corporate and Divisional performance objectives and targets in Property Services.
