Applications & Trading Support Analyst - London - £42k - £48k

We are looking for an ambitious and experienced Applications and Trading Support Analyst for a rapidly growing wealth management business.

You will be providing application support to a large professional environment, including the patching and upgrading of systems, importing and exporting of data internally and externally, monitoring of errors and faults within the applications, debugging errors and faults and escalating to development or software vendor, troubleshooting trading and financial data workflows.

There will be an expectation of having hands-on experience with the applications and understanding the business processes while also doing some development to implement changes and fixes to the applications.

With various technologies to work with, this is a role which will never get boring.

Principle Duties:

, MySQL and T-SQL Database support and maintenance.

, 3rd line technical support and maintenance of in-house and out-of-box applications.
, Improve and support integration between the various applications.
, Improve and support the business workflows within the applications.

, Monitor and support batch system jobs.
, Special projects and other duties as assigned.
, Out of hours support to monitor batch jobs and system alerts.
, 1st to 3rd line support for front, middle and back office applications.

You will have strong knowledge of and possess the following key competencies:

, Basic Development PHP 5 \ OOP \ HTML 5 \ CSS.
, Centos\Redhat.
, Windows Server 2008\2012.
, FIX messaging for trading applications.
, Shell scripting with bash.
, Basic development with Perl.
, Knowledge and practical experience of application security best practices.
, Knowledge of financial data\systems and data warehousing.

, Knowledge of trade flow and settlement cycle for equity and fund orders.


You will need to have knowledge and practical experience of software support, data warehouse/database support and financial trading system support (knowledge and understanding of equities, funds, settlement cycle and venues, FIX messaging, trade flows).

The ideal candidate will have experience of working on in-house developed apps, 3rd party trading applications, middle and back office applications and can assist in troubleshooting PHP, T-SQL, MSSQL, Bash Scripting, Perl, MySQL, HTML 5, JavaScript and CSS.

The Applications and Trading Support Analyst will be responsible for providing BAU support to a range of front, middle and back office applications, working on a variety of planned and ad hoc projects, assisting with change and release management and working with development teams to resolve on-going issues.
