Commercial Manager - Civils - Civil Engineering - Energy From Waste

Role:

Lead Commercial Manager initially based upon a multi-million pound Energy from Waste Project in Derbyshire.
Upon completion of this project in 12 months the candidate will be engaged within securing works within the growing Infrastructure division and delivering either single large projects or a portfolio of smaller schemes.

 Requirements:

 To be considered for this Commercial Manager role you must meet the following criteria:

 - Knowledge of Civil Engineering sector.
 - Previous employment as a Commercial Manager, Commercial Director, Senior Quantity Surveyor, Lead QS or Managing Quantity Surveyor.
 - Previous experience in civils projects such as Energy From Waste, Water Treatment Works, Infrastructure, Bridges, Rail, Power Stations or Highways.
 - Previous Main Contractor employment.
 - High level of communication skills.
 - Relevant industry qualification (Degree / HND / HNC etc).
- Ideally Membership of ICES, RICS or similar;
- Experience working on large complex process plants is desirable but not essential.
- Understanding complexities of bespoke PFI Contracts;
- Proven track record in successful management of commercial teams;
- Previous experience in work winning ideally

Responsibilities:

As Commercial Manager your responsibilities will include:
•To maximise profitability through stringent cost control;
•Identifying and agreeing variations;
•Assisting in management of insurance claims;
•Contract and subcontract reviews;
•Risk management;
•Production of regular (monthly and quarterly) commercial reports;
•Management of monthly CVR process;
•Support and development of the regional commercial team, including recruitment, mentoring, annual appraisals, resource deployment etc;
•Management of positive cashflow and pro-actively managing the reduction in outstanding cash payments.

Liaising with senior management.

Client contact and relations;
•Work winning;
•Business development;
•Budget setting;
•Forecasting
•Managing the resolution of subcontract disputes;
•Development of the supply chain;
•To support and be familiar with own role and responsibility in respect of Business Continuity Planning;
•Ensuring that team members are also aware of the plans and communicates same.

 Remuneration:

 The successful Commercial Manager will receive:

 

*£75,000 - £85,000 Basic (Dependant on experience)
