Disrepair Surveyor - London

My client, a housing association based in Islington is looking for a Disrepair Surveyor/Environmental Health Officer to join their team.

This is a full time, temporary position and the successful candidate will have a full UK driving license and their own vehicle.

The main skills and abilities are as follows;

Full understanding of illegal disrepair (e.g basement tanking)
Understanding of what an environmental health notice is and the required time scales needed to work under
Preparation of detailed scope of work
Full understanding of HHRS & Fire Notices
Dealing with Reactive R&M
Ability to carry out pre-inspections & diagnostics and ability to prepare specifications
Ability to understand and manage complaints
Knowledge of NHF Schedule of Rates and experiencing of implementing them
Ability to carry out quality controls as they relate to completed works
Providing a good service and customer services

In addition to these skills, the main responsibilities are as follows;

Responsible for delivering the clients compliance repairs including EHO and disrepair cases, ensuring they are delivered to a high quality, with minimum defects and a high level of customer satisfaction
Defining a clear scope of work and specification for works, including carrying out any pre-inspections required to establish and specify the full scope of work
Undertake quality inspections of compliance repairs including EHO and disrepair cases, as they are undertaken or post completion to ensure works are completed within the specified timescales to the quality required and that the works deliver value for money
Take a proactive approach to the identification of preventative repairs and maintenance to maintain the clients assets and ensuring that the customer's home is respected at all times.


Review invoices and requests for payment from contractors, challenge and resolve submissions where required
Maintain records and update asset information and produce performance and management information to support the delivery of the service and to analyse trends
Ensure that contractors meet the clients standards for customer service and take a proactive approach to resolve customer complaints and enquires
