7315 - LCV Mechanic

Our client is a nationwide vehicle hire and fleet management company.

Spanning across cars, commercial vehicles as well as ATV’s, our clients diverse, specialist fleet together with national coverage and flexible packages deliver an unbeatable customer driven range of services.
Our client is now seeking a LCV Mechanic based at their depot in Gloucestershire.

The position is permanent.


You will provide efficient and cost effective repairs to our client’s LCV fleet of vehicles ensuring that the equipment is maintained to a first class standard and in line with company policy
You will carry out vehicle inspections and repairs to Manufacturers standards and in line with Company procedures
You will perform preventative and proactive maintenance in line with manufacturers and company policy ensuring equipment is compliant with all aspects of safety and legal legislation in a cost effective manner.
You will demonstrate good diagnosis skills
You will produce good productivity levels in line with Autodata/Manufacturers repair times
You will comply with Depot specific health and safety rules and regulations and ensure the correct PPE is worn/used throughout and report any failings through the reporting procedure
You will ensure all paperwork is completed correctly, legible and handed in on time.
You will conduct yourself in a professional manner both at our client’s depots and while driving treating members of the public with courtesy at all times.
You will highlight any shortfalls or issues relating to safety or maintenance immediately to the appropriate manager.
You will maintain a clean and tidy work area and ensure all tooling and specialist equipment is checked, tested and compliant in line with company policy.
Finally, you will maintain sufficient security measures to prevent theft of company/personal property during and after normal working hours.

Knowledge and Skills:
You will be an accomplished LCV Technician and must hold recognised time served training certification within the motor industry or similar engineering back ground and demonstrate knowledge of working in the industry after apprenticeship/training completion.
You will hold a valid UK driving license.


You will have a good understanding of transport and HSE legislation.
You will have a good standard of both written and spoken English.
You will be able to work well under pressure, able to work well as part of a team and also under your own initiative when required.
You will be a well organised individual with excellent time management.
You will demonstrate a desire for self-improvement and enthusiasm to learn new skills including attending training courses both in house and external
Basic salary is £10.50 per hour based on a 40 hour contract but you will actually work a 45 hour week Monday – Friday 8am – 5.30pm with Saturday mornings until 12 when required.

You will receive 20-22 days’ holiday plus bank and public holidays plus company pension and free site parking.
