Role: Repair Technician (level 5)
Salary: up to £35,000
I am working with a well-known client in Cheltenham who is seeking a Repair Technician.
The company is a leading developer of mission and safety critical equipment in the aerospace and defence industries.
This position is within the Operations Repairs Team.
They are responsible for strip, investigation, repair, final assembly and testing of our products.
You will be working within the Operations department and the main purpose of the role will be to act as a technical lead/authority on the compliance of product to specification and troubleshooting to determine root causes where problems exist.
What your day will look like:
, Reviewing their job progress on an annual basis with the objective of achieving continuous improvement.
They will need to adhere and contribute to the advancement of the Company Mission.
, Testing and checking product and paperwork to the required specifications.
Where non conformities are found it will be the job holders responsibility to carry out diagnostic testing and determine root cause to identify the necessary corrective action.
, Act as the cell link into both the quality and engineering teams within PCS.
Specifically, technician grade staff are technical champions and are expected to patrol technical compliance across the cell/team and mentor staff where appropriate in order to continuously improve technical output from the team/cell.
, Maintain awareness and attend training courses as applicable for the purpose of the Company and self-development
, Adhere at all times to Company Procedure
, Full understanding of the expectations and requirements of your primary customer
, To work with fellow team members in a respectful and courteous manner
, Evidence of an eye test within the last 2 years and appropriate actions taken where required
, A minimum of 6 months broad based cell experience (an understanding of the range and complexity of the products that the cell produces)
, A full understanding of the responsibility that comes from being PCS certified inspection stamp holder
, IPC certified
, Thorough knowledge of continuous improvement methods, in particular ‘lean' and use this understanding to question and where necessary challenge constructively any operation or instruction believed not to be the most effective option for the Company or its customers
, 5 years experience at level 3 minimum and/or a formal engineering qualification (NVQ/C&G/ONC etc)
, Already have, or willing to undergo BPSS security checks
, Perfect colour vision - actual importance dependent upon specific role
, Previous experience in an electronics and/or PCB and/or harness manufacturing environment
, Previous experience in a supervisory capacity
, Working knowledge of concession process and ECR process
