Quality Assurance Manager

Quality Assurance Officer - Childrens Services - South Tyneside

The Quality Assurance Officer will play a key role in supporting a wide team of social workers and partnership colleagues to achieve quality improvement ahead of an Ofsted Inspection which is anticipated in summer 2017.

The position is for an initial period of 6 months full time and pay rates are are up to £11 per hour.

The role will provide a focused period of support to ensure that Quality Assurance records are fully up to date, and improvement activity is recorded with impact captured.

The role requires excellent, pro-active communication skills and the ability to form positive working relationships which will be resilient during times of high pressure.

The role will also support a review of current improvement tools and recording to ensure that our records are relevant, high quality and that systems and processes are efficient.

Quality Assurance

To support CFSC through review and maintenance of plans, records, work processes and systems for quality assurance.

To support colleagues in delivering quality assurance work and developing resources to support them.


Active and positive communication with stakeholders in the Council and across the partnership to obtain and maintain records of evidence including documents and data.


To assist in developing an effective communication strategy to ensure that key colleagues, partners and young people are engaged with Quality Assurance.

Support engagement activity and feedback reporting for key stakeholders.


The implementation and development of monitoring and evaluation systems which are robust and compatible with the quality audit inspection framework.


Timetabling, planning and follow up of meetings including minutes and action planning.


Input and analysis of data and production of reports to support operational colleagues in improving services and provide senior and leadership teams with insight.


Working closely with Management, performance and improvement colleagues to maintain a holistic approach to service improvement.


To define and draft simple processes, instructions, forms and records in an accessible way which can be rolled out by colleagues across the Service.


To draft improvement responses to Key Lines of Enquiry identified by Senior Managers and which arise as a result of Ofsted inspection or review.


To maintain information, documents and records in an accessible form, working closely with colleagues to ensure records are up-to-date and fit for purpose ahead of all key Senior Management, Committee and Inspection dates.

- Experience working as a Administrator or Business Support
- Knowledge of Childrens Services
- NVQ level 3
- Good ICT & computer skills
