Installation Technician (Rail)

Our client is looking to recruit an installation technician (rail) to work out in the field installing, commissioning and supporting company systems.

You must possess strong mechanical / electronic /electrical skills.



Our client designs, builds installs and maintains complex instrumentation systems within the rail industry.

The company now needs an experienced technician to support the manufacture, installation and support of such systems.



Qualifications:
,Ideally a technical qualification
,Ideally PTS & CSCS or COSS advantageous

Installation Technician (Rail) Experience & Roles & Responsibilities
,Solid experience of installing electro-mechanical equipment ideally within a rail or similar environment
,Adjusting instruments and calibrating systems.


,Meeting expected customer request dates for installed items
,Ensuring all tools are fit for purpose, in a good condition and are used correctly
,Carrying out product testing to engineering procedures as required
,Carrying out fault finding analysis to system level as required to determine cause of any in service system
,Ensuring safe manual handling procedures are followed at all times
,Adhere to safe system of work documentation at all times and raise safety concerns if relevant
,Carrying out 5S to assist with organisation and site efficiency
,Using the NCR process to identify non-conforming parts and processes and undertake appropriate actions to address
,Conduct routine maintenance on operational systems
,Maintain component traceability at all times through the artefacts list
,Raise faults and NCR's as appropriate in line with internal procedures.


,Using correct PPE for the task required at all times
,Candidates with railway instrumentation & systems experience will be a distinct advantage.



This role requires significant travel and the successful candidate will stay away from home Monday - Friday on installs for at least 30 weeks of the year.



£6K - £9K additional earnings achieveable in working away from home allowances + expenses & overtime
