Sales Planning Analyst

Responsible for providing financial analysis and commercial insight to support and drive business decision making for the sales planning processes for the UK and Ireland business units.

Leads the sales planning process, analyzes promotional spending and makes recommendations to sales management on most effective and efficient use of both fixed and variable sales promotions.


  • Supports the development and process improvements for the SAMS account planning, reporting and control tool.

  • Provides improvements and process SAMS change request testing and implementation.

  • Ensures all business reports are produced, checked for accuracy and delivered on time.

  • Participates in the analysis of promotion performance and effectiveness, recommends best use of fixed and variable sales and recommends promotion tactics within set parameters.

  • Draws implications from multiple sources on what influences promotional effectiveness and efficiency.

  • Analyses promotional efficiency and effectiveness and makes recommendations on best use of fixed and variable budgets

  • Identifies and recommends distribution opportunities and GAP closing and stretch goal opportunities based upon the organizations strategic priorities.

  • Manages one off projects to meet short term business requirements.

  • Makes recommendations frequently that directly impact customers and other departments.

  • Must maintain satisfactory attendance, to include timeliness.


  • Bachelor's Degree plus a minimum of 2 years of FMCG analytical experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.


  • Experience working with MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Access and VPA required.

  • Skilled in to reading, analyzing, and interpreting general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

  • Skilled in writing reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

  • Experience effectively presenting information and responding to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

  • Experience working with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry

  • Skilled in defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions.

  • Experience developing, implementing and operating complex sales and business planning tools.

  • Experience developing reporting and analysis tools in both MS Excel and MS Access
