Specification development:
Research into best practice and customer/motor needs
Power concept development, prototype and evaluation
Cost analysis
Specification review
ISO 26262 functional safety experience
Â
Planning:
Contribute to the task list and time/resource analysis
Plan review and update
Â
Development:
Inverter power stage (48Vdc, 400Vdc, 700Vdc) design
SMPS design
Power components and driving
Thermal models and protection
PCB review and layout
Conformance (including creepage and clearance)
Supporting procurement in specification and vendor interfacing
Part of the control and sensing team
Part of the manufacturing team
Link with the mechanical and thermal analysis
Automotive functional safety support

Test:
Component lifetime and limits
Conformance and failure modes
Derating
Support EMC testing and evaluationÂ
Â
Support:
Manufacturing - “easy of built” and sub-assembly plan
Procurement - cost down and volume manufacture
Sales team - application specification
Customer support team - after sales and repeat sales
Â
Research:
Links with universities and internal research
Conferences and vendor forums
Future iteration and new product ideas
Patents

Staff:
Leadership of the power team
