Network Administrator

Code Red Associates are a specialist supplier of leading supplier of Permanent & Contract ICT resource to a variety of Blue Chip, SME & expanding organisations throughout the UK and are currently resourcing for an Network Administrator to support the Systems Manager and provide first line support to users both on-site and remote.

This role requires administration of applications and infrastructure including Window and Linux Servers and telephone system as well as desktop support

The Network Administrator will be responsible for maintaining and developing the current IT infrastructure (including PCs, Servers, Switches and Printers).

They will be supporting a mix of home, office and factory users (approx 60 in total) in a PC and MAC environment.

The role also incorporates assisting in the development of the Management Information System which will include creating and designing reports.


- Providing IT support to users in person, by telephone or email.
- Administration / maintenance and improvement of company’s internal IT systems
- Administration of email
- Administration and improvement of firewall and IT Security Policy
- Configuration and set up of all new Servers, PCs, Macs, laptops and Printers
- Sourcing of new Hardware and Software
- Administration and improvement of Internet / AV policies
- Administration and improvement of Back ups.
- Developing / Designing new reports and action scripts in the MIS to meet the needs of the business
- Forecasting any needed improvements and creating business cases
- Liaise with vendor support services to resolve issues e.g.

printer maintenance, mobile network provider, software vendors
- Manage infrastructure performance and identify areas for improvement
- Maintaining hardware asset register

The ideal candidate would have:

- Previous hardware support experience, both Servers and PCs (Server 2008 / 2012)
- Previous experience Supporting Users
- Previous experience Managing Exchange
- Previous experience dealing with Back Ups
- Previous experience of MACs
- Previous experience of reporting packages / scripting languages
