EJ125 – Principal Process Inspector

Location: East Kilbride

Salary: £35,000 - £40,000

 

Overview:

First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Principal Process Inspector on behalf of our clients.

Reporting to the Quality Manager, this role is responsible for supporting the operational management of Product Quality Assurance for the site.

This includes regulatory compliance such as ISO9001 / AS9100, related EU directives, compliance to customer specifications and requirements.

The role will also make a significant contribution to manufacturing related projects.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

·         Responsible for in process inspection functions including paint inspection, certification and final inspection support.

·         Provide support to the QA Function during third party inspection/surveillance visits by customers and their representatives.

·         Interface with production and operations to ensure the flow of production through to despatch.

·         Responsible for resource control within the inspection department, assigning inspectors to appropriate tasks for their skill set.

·         Support the Quality Inspectors to ensure that products and processes comply with the relevant requirements.

·         Ensure that all requirements in process and final inspection records are documented and maintained.

·         Support in the investigation and analysis of non-conformance, and development of corrective and preventive actions to respond to customer complaints.

·         Create and maintain company quality documentation, such as paint reports,   quality data, customer inspection reports, etc.

·         Continuously improving QA receiving inspection process and making recommendations regarding procedures.

·         Support in the creation of comprehensive inspection and test plans and coating parameter verification plans, first article test reports and qualification for new projects

·         Preparation of QA reports as and when required to support the Quality manager.

·         The control of electronic gauges including calibration, maintenance and accuracy.

·         Provide support at other group company sites or customer sites as required.

·         Provide excellent customer service to all internal and external customers.

·         Any other inspection /quality functions as required.

 

Skills and Qualifications:

Good awareness of quality standards and systems.
·         Full understanding of the technical aspects of coatings.

·         At least three years’ experience working within an inspection, technical or quality control environment.

·         Paint inspector NACE level 3 accreditation or internationally recognised equivalent such as ICORR 3.



Knowledge and practical experience of using root cause analysis and problem solving techniques.
Understands process validation techniques.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and coating specifications.
Excellent oral and written skills are essential.
Must be IT literate/computer user.
Knowledge and experience of the quality requirements of the oil and gas industry, including Norsok, ASME, Nace etc.
Experience of auditing techniques would be an advantage.
An awareness of quality management techniques, including PPAP, Kaizen, 8D etc.
·         An understanding of lean manufacturing techniques and six sigma.

·         Excellent multi-tasking, analytical and decision making skills with the ability to troubleshoot, identify root causes and systematically solve problems.

Self –driven, results orientated.
Excellent attention to detail.
Organised and able to manage own time and work on own initiative.
Full clean driving licence required.
