Electrical Production Engineer

Key Responsibilities

, Work to technical drawings, parts lists and relevant documentation to assemble and wire both the company AS equipment and less complex EE project(s) as a team member.

Build quality assemblies, machine rebuilds, modifications and refurbishments.

, Be accountable for own time management, liaising with the Team Leader, project team and other build team members regarding work priorities and progress to ensure schedules are achieved and the company optimise their on-time delivery performance.

Accurately contribute to build review meetings with all key project stakeholders present.

, Help the development of trainees and apprentices by overseeing tasks/duties and sharing knowledge and experience.

, Follow schematics for electrical build, set up and carry out basic fault finding when necessary.

, Assist site installations and set up machines in the UK or abroad to meet schedule requirements.

, Contribute to the department's continuous improvement programme to ensure the business provides the highest possible value of service to our customers.

, Completion of all quality gateway documentation on time.

This will ensure deliverance of right first time to both internal and external customers
, Identify potential risks during the build process providing solutions in collaboration with other team members.

, Ensure that all hours worked are correctly booked including the capture of scrap/rework, extra to contract and non-project work.

, Responsible for house-keeping activities in work areas maintaining alignment to the company 6S culture.

This will drive a lean and efficient working environment to ensure the company maintains its competitiveness in the market place.

Knowledge and Experience

, Experience of working in a precision machine manufacturing environment
, Experience of electrical installations and in depth understanding of schematics and problem solving.

, An appreciation of Mechanical / Pneumatic components (mechatronics)
, Experience of fault finding with electrical/automation machinery
, Ability to work under own supervision or as part of a multi-technical team

Technical Skills and Qualifications

, Apprenticeship or equivalent in electrical engineering.

, Sound IT skills (for use of shop floor computer terminals)
, Ability to read and understand technical and build drawings
, Sound interpersonal and communication skills
, Crane Training beneficial.

, Up-to-date IEE wiring regulations and inspection certificate (desirable).
