Java Developer - Guildford

Cornucopia are working with a fantastic organisation in Guildford who are looking for two java developers to join them on a permanent basis.

The Team:
As a member of the Development department within the Product Delivery team, the Java Developer will work with other developers and testers in sharing responsibility for creating high quality data management and analytic software for use across the pharmaceutical, life-science and healthcare industries.

The Product Delivery division works in agile, self-organising teams having ownership of discrete areas of functionality within the product suite.

As a Java Developer you will be expected to be a self-motivated contributor to the development team designing and developing this next generation of our market leading research process and data management software.

In addition the Java Developer takes a leading role in the team and will from time to time mentor junior developers.

Key Skills:
· Strong skills in either Java.
Experience with either Mac, microservices, SaaS, CI
· Solid practical understanding of relational databases
· First-hand exposure to the various stages of the software development life-cycle, with ability to design, implement, peer review, test, fix bugs, and support released software
· The ability to solve varying and at times complex, application workflow, performance and usability design challenges with creativity, efficiency and precision
· Work in a collaborative manner with direct and indirect team members, actively contributing to projects and problem-solving discussions
· You must be self-directed, confident and able to work in a fast-paced environment
· Excellent communication in both written and spoken English, with both technical and not-so-technical people
· Able to build professional networks internally and externally to understand the best people to liaise with to get the job done
· Familiarity with agile methodologies & development practices
