IT Project Manager

My client, a local authority in the Watford area, is looking for an IT Project Manager with experience within the housing sector to work on an initial 6 month contract.

The Council has made the decision to procure the Home Connections web based software system through the G-Cloud procurement framework and requires a full time project manager to ensure the system is live before the implementation of the Homelessness Reduction Act (HRA) in April 2017.

The system will be used to manage the Housing Needs Register, the allocation of social housing and the delivery of the housing options and homelessness services and any other associated functions.


Responsibilities

, The primary responsibility is to ensure the Home Connections system is live before the implementation of the HRA and delivered within the budget available.


, Data must be fully migrated from the current software system.

The Home Connections system must be bespoke to the Council's Housing Allocations Policy and any other relevant associated policies and processes.


Requirements

, Proven working experience as a project manager in the information technology sector
, Solid technical background, with understanding or hands-on experience in software procurement and implementation
, Good client and internal communication skills
, Good organisational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking
, PRINCE II certification is desirable
, Knowledge of housing and homelessness legislation and an understanding of how this is implemented in practice is preferred.
