We are looking for a Building Surveyor with good construction design understanding and building condition surveys experience, for a permanent position based in the South Lakes, Cumbria.
Salary of £31-32k per annum depending on experience, plus benefits.
You may also be an Architectural or Structural Technician or Engineer with good condition surveys experience, who is looking for a move based in the South Lakes.
Working as the successful Building Surveyor, you will be ambitious and driven.
Your building condition surveys experience will include reporting on the condition of structures - both new and old parts of buildings - regarding making recommendations for building re-cladding or improvements.
You will be able to do measured surveys and related design and construction drawings in AutoCAD and preparation of material specifications notes, with Revit experience an advantage but NOT essential.
You will have an interest in and firm knowledge of, the built environment, including building regulations and health and safety legislation.
You could have a OND/HND in Construction / Building Surveying / Structural Engineering, or a Level 3/4 Advanced Professional Certificate in Construction, or a Degree in Building Surveying (or similar), or you could be a Chartered Engineer/Surveyor , depending on your experience level.
Either way, you will be enthusiastic with a willingness to learn and possess good common sense.
Some exposure to a project delivery environment and RIBA knowledge would be an advantage, but are NOT essential.
Your experience / abilities will also include:
*Good relationship-building skills.
*You will be a UK National with the ability to obtain Security Clearance.
*A strong understanding of good customer service.
*Analytically minded with strong problem-solving skills.
*Ability to work as part of a team, as well as individually.
*Highly motivated and organised.
*Good communication and interpersonal skills.
*Preferred experience working with commercial / manufacturing building types.
*Microsoft Office skills and other standard industry software.
*Good reporting skills - both written and verbal.
*Good project and time management skills.
It would also be an advantage if you have any experience of the following, however these are NOT essential:
*Building defect logging systems, such as BIM 360, or similar.
*Costing or estimating.
