Help Desk Technician
The US Army Medical Material Development Activity (USAMMDA) is looking for an organized, detail oriented, methodical solver to contribute to the USAMMDA mission by providing technical support and trouble shooting to desktop, and/or laptop hardware and software.
USAMMDA develops new drugs, vaccines and medical support equipment that enhance readiness, ensures the provision of the highest quality medical care to the DoD and maximizes survival of medical casualties on the battlefield.
Responsible for first call resolution by providing Tier 1 computer technical support received through phone calls, emails, and tickets.
Installs, configures, and upgrades computer hardware and software as required.
Document and triage the request by solving or escalating the request to Tier 2 support staff.
Provides a high level of customer service and support to end users.
Provides phone and help-desk support for local and off-site users.
Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.
Other duties as assigned including inventory management, laptop imaging, and excessing and disposing of computer equipment.
Associates Degree in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
5-8 years of directly related experience supporting help desk operations.
