Building Control Officer

My client based in Nuneaton has a great new position available for a qualified Building Control Officer to join their team.

This is a full time, temporary position and the successful candidate will hold a full UK driving licence and will hold a relevant professional qualification.

The main Purpose of this role is to provide a comprehensive Building Control Service to customers and ensure that the work done is compliant with the Building Regulations.

The successful candidate will:

,Be able to deal with the public in a polite, impartial and helpful manner.
,Be able to work effectively and reliably as part of a team
,Have good communication skills with a range of people inside and outside the organisation.
,Have good IT skills including word processing, spreadsheets preferably Microsoft Office, email, use of the intranet and internet
,Be able to plan tasks and meet deadlines/targets.
,Be able to pacify aggressive or difficult customers and respond in a positive, tactful and professional manner.
,Be able to maintain accurate records
,Able to manage effectively a rapidly changing workload
,Be able to be flexible in responding to a broad range of duties.
,Have experience of dealing with the public in potential confrontational situations.
,Have experience of administrative functions including record keeping
,Have a recognised qualification in building control or equivalent (preferable)
,Post will require CRB check at an appropriate level.
