Legal Practice Development Manager - Children's Services

Medway Council has an exciting opportunity for a locum Legal Practice Development Manager to join Medway's Children's services.

This is a 6-month project which is part of their Promoting Practice initiative designed to develop social work practice skills.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Support social workers and managers to identify where legal intervention is required to safeguard children effectively

  • Support the preparation of the case at all stages of the process from presenting to Legal Gateway Panel, through Pre-Proceedings and / or Care Proceedings and the implementation of specific care plan matters when cases are concluded

  • Provide workshops to develop the knowledge base regarding legal practice, case law and specific issues for social workers across Children's Services in Medway.

  • Responsible for the majority of quality assurance of court documents from the Children's Services department

  • Work closely with the two Principal Social Workers and Area Managers in the service to support practice improvement across the system; reporting initially to the Head of Service.

What you need

  • HCPC Registration

  • Professional Social Work Qualification

  • Enhanced DBS

  • Previous management experience
