Senior Practitioner - Children's Safeguarding

I have been asked directly to find an ambitious, exciting and motivating senior practitioner who would like to work for a well-respected local authority.


Staffordshire County Council boasts one of the best staff retention rates in the West Midlands and one of the highest pay rates for locum social workers in the area.

They are now looking for talented individuals to come into this role of senior practitioner and hit the ground running whilst being able to work to their high quality and standards.

As a senior practitioner, you will be expected to have experience in a senior management role.

Job Responsibilities



  • Mentoring Newly Qualified staff

  • Reporting directly to the Team Manager and covering for Team Managers when needed

  • Implementing care plans

  • Deal with safeguarding concerns

  • Offering support and advice to vulnerable Children and their Families

  • Completing risk assessments

  • Liaising with partnership agencies

  • Participating in team meetings

  • Other management responsibilities


Job requirements



  • Degree or equivalent in Social Work

  • HCPC registered

  • Full DBS

  • Post Qualifying Social Worker experience (1+ Years)
