Bid Manager- Romsey - £45,000 + Benefits

Stream are working with a leading name in the Defence/Aerospace/Cyber Security industry at their internationally regarded Hampshire location.

We're looking for an experienced Bid Manager with a history of winning high value bids across defence, aerospace and law enforcement customers.

You will provide bid management and proposal writing and be the “go to” person for Account and Bid Managers preparing campaigns and bids.

The role of the Bid Manager is to deliver high quality, winning bids, and to support the team of Client Managers in developing win strategies and capture plans.

Please note due to the nature of the role current SC clearance is a minimum requirement.
This is a customer facing role and will include travel and working at several MOD sites around the UK.

Key Tasks:

  • Effectively lead a bid team throughout the whole bid lifecycle process.

  • Prepare proposals and portal based tender responses, including fast turnaround bids within existing framework contracts.

    Write proposal documents in a customer focused manner, emphasising win themes and unique selling points.

  • Conduct reviews of bid materials and prepare and arrange internal bid approvals

  • Prepare bid plans and bid budget applications working with the central resource management team and the head of bidding to resource bid teams.

    Take responsibility for early assembly of the bid team, communication of the bid process, response structure and allocation of responsibilities and timescales.

  • Maintain a good understanding of the customer's requirements, our proposition and their evolution/development during the bidding phase.

  • Communicate effectively will all stakeholders including members of the bid team, transversal departments, customers, suppliers and bid partners.

  • Delegate work amongst members of the bid team and ensure that the allocated tasks are monitored and completed by the individuals responsible.

  • Work closely with the Commercial department in the preparation and delivery of commercial proposals, including draft terms and conditions, rate cards, prices and milestone payment plans.

  • Maintain a central repository (knowledge base) of bid artefacts and including case studies and proposal templates.

  • Support client managers on complex bids; providing competitor analysis, win strategy and win theme development support.

The right candidate will:

  • Have held a bid or proposal management position previously

  • Have a background supporting bids for complex technologies, with values in the £millions

  • Be able to demonstrate experience leading a successful team

  • Produce reports, written documentation and proposals to a high standard.

  • Assist with project planning and risk identification.

  • Excellent communication skills, history supporting stakeholders from the C-Suite down
