Quantity Surveyor - Surrey

Madisons Recruitment are excited to offer a permanent contract to an experienced Quantity Surveyor for a company based in Surrey.

The successful quantity surveyor will be expected to carry out surveying duties on various residential and commercial projects across the South East.

Quantity Surveyor responsibilities;

  • Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities with the architect and/or the client.

  • Being responsible for several developments ranging in size and reporting directly to the Construction Director.

  • Undertake cost analysis for repair and maintenance project work.

  • Assist in establishing a client's requirements and undertake feasibility studies.

  • Perform risk, value management and cost control.

  • Advise on a procurement strategy.

  • Identify, analyse and develop responses to commercial risks.

  • Prepare and analyse costings for tenders.

  • Allocate work to subcontractors.

  • Provide advice on contractual claims.

  • Analyse outcomes and write detailed progress reports.

  • Value completed work and arrange payments.

  • Maintain awareness of the different building contracts in current use.

  • Understand the implications of health and safety regulations.

  • Weekly site visits.

Quantity Surveyor qualifications/ skills required;

  • Degree qualified or equivalent (HND qualified candidates will be considered).

  • Ideally be a member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), although no essential.

  • Minimum of three years' experience working as a quantity surveyor.

  • Strong budgeting, IT and maths skills.

  • Organisational and planning skills.

  • To represent the company in a professional manner at all times, with a keen eye for finishing detail and taking pride in the end product.

  • Quantity surveyor must possess excellent interpersonal skills and communicate concisely at all levels.

  • Quantity surveyor must always represent the company in a professional manner and have the desire to progress within the business.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract, Permanent
Salary: £65,000.00 to £75,000.00 /year
Salary Benefits: Fuel allowance, Laptop, Phone Pension, negotiable contract.
