Financial Accounting Partner - Cost, Inventory & Fixed Assets

Our client, a global pharmaceutical organisation, are looking for a Cost Accountant on a 12 month FTC.

This person will work closely with the Supply Chain team, leading on financial activities related to inventory control, reporting of cost of sales and fixed assets.

Working in an established accounting team, you will be committed to performance excellence and have an ability to manage high levels of pressure in a complex operating environment.

Key responsibilities;

  • Statutory compliance - valuation and reconciliation of group inventories in line with audit and IFRS/UK GAAP requirements.

  • Reporting - monthly inventory analysis and all reporting requirements related to inventory, cost and fixed assets.

  • Cost Accounting - continuous update and review of standard and actual costs of materials for inaccuracies.

  • Reconciliation of balance sheet for inventory/fixed assets and calculation of stock provisions.

  • Distribution Hub Accounting - reconciling stock movements between packaging plants.

  • Controls - oversee completion of internal control framework and financial statement close process.

Experience & Skills;

  • Qualified Accountant - ACA, ACCA or CIMA.

  • Previous experience of cost, inventory and fixed assets accounting in a complex organisation.

  • Complete understanding of what constitutes good internal controls and governance.

  • Broad and deep finance knowledge with the ability to communicate information to senior business leaders.

  • Advanced level in MS Office packages and integrated accounting systems including SAP.
