Support Worker (Mental Health)

An experienced Support Worker is required to work in South East London as part of a team to support people with issues relating to drug and alcohol misuse in a residential/hostel setting.

Reporting to a Unit Manager you will assist in the provision of high quality specialist care and support services to adults.

What work is involved

The role would suit an enthusiastic, organised energetic person with experience of working and assisting in the provision of good quality care and support services to adults with issues related to drug & alcohol misuse.

This work will include:

  • Initial assessments

  • Updating client records

  • Helping to organise the attendance to appointments

  • Ensuring health and safety within the building

  • One-to-one and group work

  • Administration

  • Managing a case load

You will be required have an NVQ level 3 in Health and Social Care and experience of working with clients who have suffered from issues related to drug and alcohol misuse.

You will be based within a residential/hostel setting, so this type of experience would be an advantage/

This post is based on a day shift pattern to be agreed in advance.

A minimum of 4 shifts per week and a combination of early and late shifts will be required.
