Jarvis King is offering a social media internship (on a voluntary basis) to assist with content management and channel optimisation of our growing social media profiles.

Under the guidance of our Social Media Manager, this 12-week internship aims to develop the principles of social media in the world of employment.


No previous experience required - this internship will be suitable for someone who has relevant studies in social media/marketing and is looking for work experience with a reputable business who has been established for nearly 2 decades.


Following completion of this project, the business will invest time in trying to secure a permanent job for you within our client partnering organisations.


This opportunity allows you to work from the comfort of your own home, thus can be based anywhere.


Duties will include:



  • Identifying, generating and delivering compelling content & material to engage online audiences.

  • Tracking current trade news, trends, to identify content source streams

  • Creating and designing images/graphics and video content for marketing campaigns

  • Planning, scheduling and overseeing social media activity

  • Connecting with social media influencers to build productive relationships

  • Producing email marketing materials: developing creative content, monitoring and reporting results, helping build automation; personalisation and dynamic content elements

  • Using analytics tools (e.g.

    Facebook insights, LinkedIn Analytics, Twitter Analytics, Mention) to monitor, report and make recommendations


To be considered for this role, you will have:



  • An avid interest in Social Media with either experience or qualification in a relevant subject

  • Able to demonstrate good working knowledge of a range of Social Media platforms such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Instagram

  • A natural storyteller with an understanding of tone of voice along with a keen understanding of what makes great engaging content

  • Focused on customer needs, product brand and clear targeting of marketing messages and channels

  • Resourceful and creative with a good visual eye and able to bring new ideas to the table

  • Hands on experience of using graphic/image editing software (pixel and vector based) an advantage (e.g.

    Adobe Creative Cloud) - preferable, not essential.

  • Experience of using an email Marketing Platform (e.g.

    MailChimp)

  • Practical knowledge of video editing and the use of associated software
