Claims Consultant

Salary - £17,500 (and up to 3 pay reviews in the first 18 months)

Location - Eastleigh, Hampshire

We are currently recruiting for Claims Handlers to assist our highly reputable client with dealing with insurance claims from their customers.

Your main role will be to settle claims as quickly and economically as possible, whilst providing a high standard of service to customers.

Main Responsibilities:

  • To manage the commencement of claims ensuring the customer requirements and expectations are properly understood.

  • Providing guidance to customer, helping to influence customer decisions to protect claims cost and where possible provide a one stop shop;

  • To provide customers with a quality service;

  • To ensure that during the claim handling process; company standards, procedures and compliance are followed;

  • To be able to identify the indicators of fraud and use questioning/investigation techniques to decide if claim can be progressed;

You will act as the primary contact for the customer and ensure that a quality service is provided at all times.

You will be responsible for the management of your own caseload, making decisions on all aspects of the claim within their own authority limits and will be expected to self-generate the majority of letters.

In order to be successful in this role, you will require the following:

  • Excellent communication skills capable of dealing effectively with all contacts ranging from the general public through to lawyers;

  • Negotiation skills;

  • Computer literate;

  • Demonstrate a high standard of customer service;

  • Positive attitude at all times
