Energy Coast UTC is a unique 14–19 college created through a partnership between industry and education.

Our approach to the curriculum, grounded in traditional values, provide a great foundation for students’ futures.

We are a college that delivers Engineering excellence through innovative, technically-focused education.

Our industry partners include: NDA, Sellafield Ltd, Gen2, Morgan Sindall, the University or Cumbria, Lakes College, the Royal Navy and the National Nuclear Laboratory.

From September 2019, our Engineering and Technology provision will be taught in state-of-the-art classrooms.

We seek to appoint an outstanding teacher of Engineering and/or Technology who is dynamic, enthusiastic and creative.

The successful applicant will be passionate about inspiring our students and be a team player who works collaboratively with colleagues.

The suitable candidate will either have a good track record of excellent classroom practice and sustained added value outcomes for students, or we would also welcome applications from an NQT with the potential to achieve such results within a supportive department at the Energy Coast UTC.

We are committed to achieving the best possible outcomes for students through strategic interventions and leadership, building upon the success of our summer 2018 results.

The successful applicant will:

  • Be qualified and able to deliver Engineering and/or Tecnology across Key Stages 4 and 5 to the highest standard, as well as other, varied, industry standard qualifications.
  • Be technically competent in using a range of CAD CAM applications and equipment.
  • Have a good track record of excellent classroom practice and display added value outcomes for students.
  • Be an excellent communicator who is able to meet deadlines.
  • Be a reflective practitioner who is willing to take an active role in the wider life of the school.
  • Be a strong team player.
  • Be passionate about the success of students, the department and the UTC.
