Infrastructure Manager - High Wycombe - up to £65,000 plus benefits

This is an infrastructure manager role at a respected MSP in High Wycombe, looking after a team of on and offshore resources, covering the “mid-shift” - 0800-1730.

We're looking for an ambitious Infrastructure Engineer - at either team leader or manager level - who wants to take the next step into a management role at a busy MSP.

Role wise, you'll will lead, manage and motivate our small team of 3rd line engineers - delivering best in class support and guidance to new and existing customers across a range of disciplines.

You will

  • Be responsible for providing end-to-end support for IT Infrastructure services via a customer-friendly, technically astute and driven team.

  • You will lead, manage and mentor a multi-disciplined Infrastructure team responsible for delivering and supporting network, server and cloud infrastructure services

  • Deal directly with end clients, a point of contact for escalations and technical queries

  • Act as a technical authority, and in a major incident take control and deploy resources as needed

  • Administer and troubleshoot services, going hands on when needed

  • Create management and client reports as needed

We're looking for:

  • Previous experiencing managing an infrastructure team on a busy service desk.

    Experience managing offshore resource will be useful, but not essential.

  • Solid understanding of the Microsoft Cloud stack, including Azure, Windows Server, Active directory, clustering, WSUS etc.

  • Background with virtualisation technologies, VMware of Hyper-V

  • Certified to MCSE or MCSA level, with a good learning plan in place

  • Working history with backup technologies, as well as automated monitoring and logging tools.

    Experience in root cause analysis beneficial

  • Working on projects related to Network Security or hardening will be valuable - AV, 2 Factor Authentication, Encryption etc.

  • Experience working within a similar role in an MSP environment would be preferred, but not essential
