CARE LEADER

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Care Leader within a residential and dementia care home set in a quiet residential location in Oxford, the Care Leader role is to ensure the highest standards of care & service are delivered to the residents, relatives & visitors.

Our client is looking for candidates with a flexible approach to working, supportive of colleagues, reliable & trustworthy, understanding of confidentiality, professional with commitment to continuous improvement.




Main Responsibilities:


Ensure the highest standard of care and attention are given to the residents using a person centred approach.


Contribute to care planning, accurately completing all necessary records.


Work as a team and ensure the smooth running of the team whilst on duty, relieving others for breaks and ensuring consistency of practice.


Support colleagues to care appropriately and record accurately.


Support and develop new and less experienced Carers.


Ensure work practice of the team is positive, appropriate, consistent and maintained.


Maintain confidentiality of information.


Assist in serving meals to residents particularly those who require help with feeding.


Participate and encourage residents to participate in activities and help provide physical and mental stimulation for residents.


Actively participate in staff meetings, communicating any concerns that have been raised whilst working with the residents or members of the team.


Recognise the responsibilities of all staff to make new residents and new staff welcome and help to familiarise them to the home.


Be responsible for the health and safety of self, other staff, residents and visitors under the Health and Safety regulations.

Report any hazards or potential hazards to the person in charge or take other appropriate action.


Adhere to the Whistle Blowing Policy and ensuring safeguarding.


Undertake any other duties or training consistent with the role.


Actively promote ‘Aiming for Excellence' in daily practice.


Promoting dignity, choice and rights of the Residents.


Enabling / reabling as appropriate including following guidance from external health professionals.
