Export Control Business Analyst

Currently there are no User Experience engineers available within the COO/ IM&T/ Human Factors who can support the efficient design and delivery of the Export Control Transformation Programme 'Web Portal'.

This Portal is the main communications channel and access point for the AIR organisation to get access to business-critical Export Control data, guidance and process that allow the business to remain EC Compliant.

The role will require a maximum of 12 months to complete the task, as such the end date is 22/05/2020.


  • Embed a user centric approach in solutions and methodologies such as user journeys, stories, and Agile delivery via Kanban and Sprint approaches

  • To liaise with the business to understand the business needs and to elicit, analyse, communicate and validate those needs.

  • Have involvement throughout the project from needs capture to product development and on-going support.

  • To develop knowledge of the potential proposed solutions to ensure any risks are considered.

  • Undertake the analysis and determination of User Needs using agreed Agile and user centred methodology techniques

  • Assist business functions to develop Business Process Models, and procedures

  • Create specifications and design documentation (accounting for functional and non-functional product goals)

  • Develop and document Acceptance Criteria working with functional representatives to ensure that detailed scenarios are documented.

  • Understand the business policies/processes to ensure business benefit is realised

  • Assisting with the capture of evolving business change

Preferred experience/ skillset:
, Agile working methods (Scrum)
, Atlassian toolset (Jira, Confluence)
