Assistant Logistics Manager

Due to continuous growth, our global client based within the Kettering area, currently have an excellent opportunity for an Assistant Logistics Manager to help manage their logistics team to ensure deliveries are produced in the most efficient and cost-effective manner possible throughout the UK and Europe.

Main Responsibilities Include:

• Responsible for the day to day management of all transport and warehouse activities within the plant
• Manage the logistics planning team to ensure that the deliveries are planned by the most cost effective LSP and method, for both UK and European deliveries
• Manage the warehouse logistics team to ensure that all processes and procedures are complied with
• Communicating with Logistics planning, warehouse, Customer Services and Production planning teams to resolve any distribution problems that may arise
• Direct dealing with customers or their Freight forwarders
• Investigate root causes of incidents and implement remedial actions

Experience Required:

• The successful candidate must have had experience of working in a general haulage' operation
• A good geographical knowledge of the UK is essential
• Full understanding of how a transport/logistics operation is run operationally and budgetary
• Previous planning experience is essential
• SAP experience is required
