Business Analyst - Newton Abbott
A large Devon based housing association are recruiting for a Business Analyst to analyse data to to identify requirements and develop specifications to enable the production of graphical reporting dashboards at their head office in Newton Abbott.

The Role
The focus of the role is the analysis of data held within their business systems to identify requirements and develop specifications to enable the production of graphical reporting dashboards.

These will reflect the key performance indicators (KPIs) and management information required at all levels to enable data based decisions.

Your daily tasks will include:
, To engage with all management levels within the business to determine their requirements for creating an initial Minimum Viable Product (MVP) data dashboard to reflect the key information which will allow them to manage their area of responsibility more effectively by using data based decisions.
, Through this engagement determine the most appropriate method of displaying the information e.g.

pie or bar charts.

In addition, identify whether the data is used for historical performance, alerts/red, amber, green (RAG) or for trend analysis for the prediction of future performance.


, Work closely with the Business Transformation Team and other subject matter experts to identify where and how data is held across the various business systems.

In addition, understand the capability and the limitations of the software solutions to be used to render the data and display it in a graphical format, which will allow the user to drill down to a more detailed level if required.


, Produce specifications which can be used by the Business Transformation Team and other report authors within the business to develop the dashboards.

These specifications will then be used for User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to sign off the solutions before becoming live.

The Candidate
To be considered for this role, you will require experience of Business Analysis and ideally have a good knowledge of mapping processes and be able to extract information quickly and accurately.

You will also require:
, Reviewing and developing processes
, Development of specification ideally using tools such as MoSCoW
, Techniques such as Agile and the concept of Minimal Viable Products (MVP)
, Analysing data and interpreting required outcomes
, Effectively negotiating and liaising with colleagues

The Contract
This is a short term temporary contract covering the holiday period.

The contract will initially be for about 3 days a week for around 2 weeks, followed by being full time (36.25 hours) until the end of the contract in Mid-November.
