Senior Support Worker

Full-Time – 37.5 hours per week.

Sleep ins may be required (for which an additional payment will be paid)

Salary - £19,000 - £21,000 per annum (+ benefits)

Safehands are seeking out a Senior Support Worker in Gloucestershire.

You will be working with 16-25 year olds with a variety of needs such as substance misuse related illnesses, and mental health issues.

These individuals may have previously been homeless and you will be working in a team to break the cycle of homelessness by providing support in supported accommodation.

 

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:


  • Report to the Project Manager on the day-to-day running of all care and support services, fulfilling daily, weekly and monthly monitoring processes as agreed
  • To assist housing officer with management monitoring and recording as per contract
  • To oversee daily duties, shift leading on handover and ensuring that daily duties are completed.

    Act as first point of contact for external agencies
  • Supervise Support Workers, sessional staff, students and volunteers
  • Take emergency on-call duty on a rota basis
  • Assist in the recruitment, selection induction and supervision of volunteers/staff as required
  • Represent the company on all relevant statutory and voluntary sector committees, working parties, steering groups and management committees as required by the service and Project Manager
  • Promote good public relations through the use of local media, participating on relevant public events and organising promotional events for the charity through the production of publicity material
  • Complete monitoring and evaluation of services, ensuring that data is captured and recorded via appropriate method

About you:


  • Ability to show empathy with young people, the homeless, the NEET group, people coping with deprivation, vulnerable adults etc
  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • Demonstrable achievement in a support worker role
  • Experience of working with vulnerable young people
