We are currently recruiting for a truly unique opportunity in Solihull for a PMO Manager.

My client is looking for an experienced PMO Manager to work as part of a newly created team and help them develop a more mature PMO function.

As the Portfolio Management Office Manager, you will be responsible for oversight and coordinating successful delivery of programmes and projects across the organisation through:

- Management of demand and co-ordination of analysis
- Effective prioritisation based on business imperative
- Optimal allocation and utilisation of resources across Change, IT and Business areas to delivery projects
- Consistency and quality assurance of change process application during the project lifecycle
- Progress tracking and escalation as required
- Benefit realisation planning and tracking
- Monitoring and robust financial management
- Portfolio reporting and governance
- Identifying key themes for improvement via lessons learnt
- Line manage the PMO team, inspiring a ‘Best in Class’ work ethic and approach

 
This role will be a ‘hands-on’ PMO role supporting the Head of Change and IT Director, you’ll be involved in many different aspects of change analysis, driving implementation, reporting, governance, identifying problems, as well as assessing business wide risk.



KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Lead the demand management and approvals process including governance in line with Group priorities
- Active management of Group Change Portfolio including cross project dependencies
- Management of Change requests ensuring compliance with approval process
- Provide project and programme reporting
- Develop and maintain Group Change Roadmaps
- Provide quality assurance of inflight projects and programmes
- Change and IT resource planning and maintenance across the portfolio
- Maintain consistency of delivery and compliance to the change framework
- Mentor and Coach change managers, IT delivery managers and other areas who deliver projects ensuring standards and compliance are met
- Track Risks and Issues to ensure appropriate management and mitigations

KEY SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

 

- Experience working within a PMO function in a Senior position
- PRINCE2 or APM – Alongside having an awareness of Waterfall and Agile methodologies/ lean six sigma
- Broad PPM process and system knowledge including portfolio analysis and insight and knowledge of project delivery within technical and business environment
- Ability to build relationships and influence multiple stakeholders at all levels of seniority whilst driving compliance
- Pro-active and tenacious nature to unblock issues and ensure progress with excellent problem-solving skills and ability to coach others
- Credibility and the ability to inspire confidence and trust of peers, staff, and partners
- Able to work on own initiative and make informed decisions based on the information available
- Line management experience
