Occupational Health Adviser

Safehands Recruitment are currently recruiting for an Occupational Health Adviser in Hereford for a leading food manufacturer.

This is a permanent position working 32 hours a week and the salary is £36,000.

                                                                                                                                      

Job Purpose:


  • To provide a proactive service, supporting the business with sickness absence and rehabilitation.
  • To offer advice on fitness to work in line with OH legislation and in line with the business operations.
  • To be responsible for analysis and interpretation of health surveillance to include spirometry and audiometry.
  • To promote health and wellbeing in all employees.

Main Responsibilities:   


  • Case management of all employees, supporting absence and ill health/injury, whilst ensuring accountability to the NMC regulations.
  • Provide fitness to work advice, appropriate to the employee and business need.
  • Analyse and interpret results of health surveillance and health assessments, in line with OH Law and NMC guidelines.
  • Provide additional treatment, support and advice, working with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Deliver and support first aid as needed.
  • Responsible for maintaining all administration systems, including confidentiality according to NMC recommendations.

  • Ensure that the Health and Safety Policies, Standard Operating Procedures are properly managed and adhered to at all times.
  • Ensure that delivery of agreed service level agreement standards are maintained where appropriate.
  • Take responsibility for own continuous professional development, liaising with the Manager.
  • Undertake ad-hoc project work associated with occupational health as and when required.
  • Other duties within the general scope of the post may be required from time to time.
  • The duties of the post and job description will be regularly reviewed by the line manager.

 

Knowledge and Experience

Essential


  • Registered General Nurse and be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)
  • Proven experience in various practice fields as a Registered General Nurse
  • Proven experience of effective team interaction and communication skills to all levels within an organisation
  • Driving licence

 

Desirable


  • OH Diploma/Certificate
  • Proven experience post registration of OH processes and procedures
  • Competency qualification in conducting, interpreting and analysing of Audiometry and Spirometry tests
