Recovery / Support Worker

Better Healthcare Bedford, are excited to be recruiting for an established mental health support unit in Bedford.

Titled as a Recovery Worker, you will be supporting residents in promoting independence, enabling them to cope with every-day activities and to lead a healthy lifestyle.

You will not be supporting in physical care but will be supporting individuals in an emotional and mental capacity.

The role would suit an individual with previous support work experience within a residential care unit.

on a day-to-day basis your duties will include, but not limited to:

* Writing / updating care and support plans

* Administrate medication - Full training will be provided

* Promote independence

* Attend and support residents with daily goals and activities

* Talking and interacting with residents regularly and ready to listen at every opportunity.

* There will be cleaning duties and risk assessments to complete, to ensure that the support unit is maintained to a high standard but within the communal units only.

* On an evening shift, you will be expected to support residents in preparing the evening meal.

This is a great opportunity for an individual looking to move out of "physical" support and into providing care to equip residents to move into their own personal homes to be able to live independently on their own.

This is a temporary role with the opportunity to go permanent after 12 weeks for the successful candidate.

You will be working 37.5 hours a week and will be expected to work every-other weekend on a rota basis of early and late shifts.
