Our client is a UK based live entertainment company.

Purpose of The Role

You’ll be working as part of their front of house team and may be placed at their sites at East Princes Street Gardens or Castle Street.  Roles are wide ranging in front of house and there is something to suit everyone.  You may be checking customer tickets to their various rides and attractions at Edinburgh’s Christmas, managing queues on a busy day, helping Santa by entertaining the children anxiously waiting to meet him, wrapping presents, helping to keep the back of house areas tidy and answering queries from the general public.

Person Specification

Previous experience is not essential, but you must be a good communicator, extremely friendly and be able to stay calm in sometimes busy and difficult situations.

You work closely with the Box Office Team and like them, meet lots of people and therefore must be a strong communicator.

Front of House are the eyes and ears of the site.

They patrol all areas to make sure customers are getting to where they need to be on time and ensure sites are clean and running smoothly.

As well as this, you are there to answer any questions that the public may have.

You should be friendly, confident, good with people and able to organise large numbers of people.

You may be working their Santa Land or Santa’s Grotto venues and as such will be required to dress in costume.

There’s no sitting at desks involved in the job so you should be good on your feet, have a confident manner and big voice, and be willing to scramble to action at a moments’ notice.

Terms & Conditions

This role is a fixed term contract, from the 12th of November 2019 – 6th of January 2020 inclusive.  You should be available to work for the full period, and they can offer work on a full time or part time basis subject to availability.  Staff Training takes place on the 12th of November and is compulsory.

Pay for this role is £8.21 per hour, which will be paid fortnightly for the duration of the contract.  You will need to be over 18 and find your own accommodation within Edinburgh as they do not provide any staff accommodation.

You have to commit to working New Year's Eve daytime and evening.

You may be required to work Christmas Eve, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.

If this sounds like the opportunity for you, please apply ASAP.  Applications close on 11/11/2019.
