Team Leader

The Role

You will be responsible for managing and supporting a team of Senior Psychotherapists and Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners as a practice lead to deliver a responsive, high quality service in line with CQC requirements.

The Team Leader will work between the HMP Hollesley Bay, HMP Warren Hill and HMP High Point sites.


Responsibilities for the Team Leader:

  • Supporting and developing your team of Practitioners, who deliver psychological interventions, and their performance
  • Building strong relationships with colleagues in the unit
  • Managing a small number of complex cases
  • Motivating the team to ensure KPIs, deadlines and quality standards are met and take an active role in implementing and achieving them
  • Ensuring that interventions are delivered in accordance with the needs of the service users
  • Delivering on performance targets set by Forward, commissioners and the prime contractor
  • Managing resources effectively in order to meet targets and deadlines in accordance with contractual standards
  • Supporting the Regional Manager to ensure data accuracy and data submission deadlines are met
  • Undertaking reviews and adaptations of the service delivery model
  • Attending daily meetings
  • Carrying out regular service audits, and developing action plans to ensure that any issues are escalated and addressed in a timely manner


Requirements for the Team Leader:

Previous experience:

  • A relevant Mental Health support or substance misuse qualification
  • Demonstrable experience in the management of teams, performance and development
  • Knowledge and experience of implementing formal procedures and policies
  • A genuine interest in motivating and developing people
  • Previous experience working in a prison environment
