CNM 1 - Orthopaedic Theatre

Lucas Love Healthcare are recruiting a CNM 1 - Orthopaedic Theatre for our esteemed client, a South Dublin Private Hospital.

The CNM 1 will be responsible for ensuring delivery of highest standard of care for patients in the Orthopaedic Theatre.

You will be directing and overseeing all the daily activities of the theatre you are assigned to.

You will also be managing clinical, human resources and finances.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years' Orthopaedic Clinical Theatre experience.

  • Must be registered with the NMBI in Ireland with a valid PIN.

  • Must be fluent and grammatically correct in English.

  • Must demonstrate qualities of leadership, teaching, critical-thinking and problem solving.


  • In charge of the daily patient care operations of the Orthopaedic Theatres.

  • Organizes the equipment required for patient care and ensures implants available

  • Should focus on ongoing evaluation of patient care processes and suggest improvements.

  • Delegates appropriate tasks to appropriate personnel, consistent with legal and professional guidelines and departmental standards.

  • Is the resource person in the unit and maintains clear communications with the Nurse Manager regarding unit needs and/or incidents.

  • Will be familiar with and adhere to The Professional Scope of Practice Framework (An Bord Altranais 2015).

  • Effective management of complaints.

  • Adhere to quality management guidelines, evaluate current practices to follow best practices and participate in health promotion initiatives.

  • Will work along with the nurse manager to develop teaching skills and participate in orientation and teaching programs for nurse students.

  • Demonstrate the ability to delegate tasks to appropriate team members.

  • Responsibilities may evolve as per the needs of the job.

  • Strong computer skills.

  • Should be flexible with internal rotations, rostering and theatre on call.

  • Willingness to participate in clinical audits.

  • Willingness to participate in on-going professional development as per the requirement of the role.
